Frequently asked questions

  • How long does it take to build a pool?
Construction time will vary depending on the size of the pool and its location. Some backyards are easier to dig than others. You may also have other considerations as part of the project, such as moving sewer lines or water lines and addressing nearby trees. Some area requirements may slow down the project as well. On average, most projects will take between a few weeks and a couple of months.
  • Can I Build anytime of the year?
British Columbia requires fencing around swimming pools as a safety precaution. Individual insurance companies that protect your home may also insist on fencing. Fences keep out unwanted guests so that they will not accidentally be injured in your pool. The requirements are often that the swimming pool is enclosed on at least three sides, but the home or another structure can make up the fourth side. You also will be required to install self closing doors that go into the pool area as well. Keep in mind that even if you have an automatic cover on the swimming pool, you will still need to meet fencing requirements.
  • What type of pool is best?
It's really dependent on what you're preferences are, and we can talk you through the options! Several types of pool options are available, including vinyl, concrete and fiberglass. Each type is not necessarily better than the other, but they each have certain advantages and disadvantages. Vinyl pools are often the easiest to take care of and refurbish. They are also extremely customizable and cost-effective. They are also more resistant to staining than other types of materials. Concrete is far more expensive but is extremely eye-catching. Fiberglass is quick to install and has many of the same benefits as vinyl, but is often more costly.
  • Will my pool be energy efficient?
There are a wide variety of excellent products that reduce the demand on energy consumption for pools – some energy efficient products even pay for themselves over a season or two. Power covers and even solar blankets can be a good option for energy reduction. Heaters can also be hooked up to solar grids for use if available.
  • How will i know how to run my pool after installation?
After every pool install we set aside a day for a pool and equipment walkthrough. Where we will show you the ins and outs of basic pool maintenance and care. We also offer maintenance services for all of our pools.
